Monday May 12th, 2025 Honeoye Lake Water Quality Update

Surface Water Temperature: ~59.4 F

Water Clarity: ~9.2 Feet

Lake Level: 803.9 Feet above sea level

Lake level +.6 Feet (~7 inches) above normal

Observations: Monday (5/12/25), Water clarity was ~9.2 feet and surface water temperature was ~59.4 F.  Water clarity was about 2 feet lower than it typically is in early May due to a lot of tree pollen in the water. We did not visually see any signs of an algae today. It was a beautiful spring day on Honeoye Lake!

We won’t start making our blue-green algae surveillance runs until late June.

Always use your own visual assessment before making contact with the lake water at this time of year as the blue-green algae situation can change daily if not hourly. Please regularly check the DEC HABs alert map for more detailed updates on Honeoye Lake HABs alerts:
